Attorney Robert Malove graduated from The American University School of Justice in Washington, D.C., in 1979, with a Bachelor of Science degree in the Administration of Justice. Consistent with staying on the cutting edge of developments in criminal defense, one of Mr. Malove’s signature trademarks, he earned a Masters Degree in Forensic Science, from the George Washington University in 1981, where a number of courses were instructed at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center’s Institute of Forensic Pathology. Robert graduated from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1983.

Robert Malove is Board Certified by the Florida Bar as an expert in Criminal Law. Over the years, Robert Malove has earned a reputation as a fierce litigator. In 1984, Robert Malove became an Assistant Public Defender in Broward County, Florida. Over the next 12 years, Mr. Malove appeared in court regularly and handled all types of cases ranging from petty offenses to capital crimes.

In 1995, Robert Malove was selected to serve as the DUI Training Attorney at the Public Defender’s Office in Miami. Robert has attended and successfully completed the Metro-Dade Police Academy’s Field Sobriety Testing Course and was issued a Permit to Conduct Breath Alcohol Testing on Intoxilyzer Breath Testing Instruments by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

In 1995, Robert became a Founding Member of the National College for DUI Defense, a professional, non-profit corporation dedicated to the improvement of the criminal defense bar, and the dissemination of information to the public about DUI Defense Law as a specialty area of law practice. The original Founding Members funded the establishment of the college, and are among the top DUI practitioners in the United States.

Mr. Malove has been in private practice since 1996. In 1999, Robert was awarded the coveted “AV” rating (“very high to preeminent”) by the International Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory — the highest rating awarded to attorneys and one shared by fewer than 7% of all lawyers in the United States. Among his many accomplishments, Robert defeated the State of Florida’s attempt to limit defense attorneys from cross-examining breath test technicians regarding the operation of the Intoxilyzer and obtained a published opinion allowing defense attorneys to expose the “voodoo science” the Intoxilyzer is based upon.

In 2007, Mr. Malove completed postgraduate studies in Healthcare Corporate Compliance at George Washington University and furthered his comprehensive knowledge in the various state and federal laws regarding healthcare fraud and corporate compliance. Also, in 2007, Mr. Malove attended the Health Care Compliance Association’s Compliance Academy has successfully completed the Certified in Healthcare Compliance Examination, earning the CHC designation.Mr. Malove has extensive experience in the area of pill mill defenses and represents the Florida Academy of Pain Medicine, Florida Academy of Physician Assistants, American Academy of Pain Management, and Florida Society of Neurology and has filed an amicus curiae brief in federal court challenging the constitutionality of the Florida statutes regulating the operation of pain clinics, i.e., pill mills.
