Malove Uses Google Maps to Prove Client Was Not at The Scene of the Crime – Actual Innocence – Case Dismissed
Client was serving a probationary term in an unrelated case. On the date of the alleged incident, his on and off again girlfriend arrived home late with cuts and bruises on her face. Her concerned daughter noticed these cuts and bruises and asked her mother what happened. Her mother advised her daughter that she took an Uber after she left work to our client’s house. After arriving at our client’s house, they got into a verbal argument and according to her our client through her against a wall, punched her in the nose and eye with a closed fist. The daughter called the police and our client was arrested for battery in Lee County, which also violated his probation in the unrelated case.
The Law Office of Robert Malove was hired, we met with our client and he was adamant his ex-girlfriend never came to his house that night. After reviewing the discovery, we subpoenaed her Uber records. After receiving these records from Uber, we punched the coordinates into Google Maps and amazingly it showed his ex-girlfriend did not Uber to his house and she was lying. We created a PowerPoint presentation for the State using the Uber records and Google Maps to map out the GPS coordinates of the exact times and locations of the pickup and drop off zones, and their proximity to the client’s house, establishing there is no way she was at his house that night. After reviewing our presentation, the Lee County State Attorney dropped the battery charge and the VOP.
